Black Cat Zoning Out, also known as Black Cat Zoned Out or Staring Black Cat, refers to a video of a black cat staring blankly at a tan-colored cat which meme creators associated with "zoning out," pairing the video with captions related to losing focus or dissociating. The meme template trended mostly on TikTok in 2023, where creators used a greenscreen template to edit the cats over various backgrounds that coincided with the given caption. Also, TikTokers predominantly used the TikTok sound and song "aquatic ambience" by scizzie. The original video was filmed by a Japanese TikToker in March 2023.
The Mobik Meat Cube or Russian Meat Cube, also known as Cubenik is a conspiracy theory surrounding a series of photographs purportedly showing a compressed pile of a meat-like substance. The images, allegedly taken from a street in the Grafovka, Schebekinskiy district of Belgorod oblast, Russia, first surfaced on Telegram in early July 2023 and spread across sites including 4chan and Twitter as users attempted to discover whether or not the meat cube is really made of human remains, also inspiring memes. The cube was reported by Russian news sources to be discarded dog food, with the Angel Animal Shelter reportedly confirming this.
"That Person Is Not Real" Plane Woman is a viral public freakout video of a woman frightenedly ranting in a plane prior to its takeoff that another person on the plane was "not real" and that she wanted to get off. The video rapidly spread online in early July 2023 and drew comparisons to the film Final Destination, as well as inspiring jokes about whether the woman was correct.
The Threads 666 Logo Conspiracy Theory refers to a conspiracy theory based on the logo for Meta's Twitter clone Threads which some thought resembled the number 666, known in the Bible as the "number of the beast" associated with the Antichrist, the Devil and Satan. The theory trended on Twitter soon after the launch of Threads in July 2023. The theory was generally anti-Threads in the Twitter vs. Threads debate.
