Trench Crusade is an upcoming skirmish tabletop miniatures game set in an alternative universe in which a war between forces Heaven and Hell rages in the year 1914. Created by concept artists Mike Franchina and Tuomas Pirinen and in development since 2018, the game saw early playtest rules released in January 2024. In May 2024, the game garnered attention online for a controversy regarding a conflict on the Discord server for 28 Magazine (a left-leaning publication about tabletop games).
Vivian is a character in the Nintendo video game Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. She is originally a member of the villainous Three Shadows trio of witches before joining Mario as an ally. Notably, fans long speculated that the character was transgender due to the nature of the bullying she received from her sisters in the Japanese version of the game, though this was removed in the original English release. In the 2024 remake of the game released for the Nintendo Switch, she was confirmed to be transgender. Since her introduction, Vivian has appeared in numerous memes and fan art depictions, among other content online.
The Death Of Kabosu, also known as the Doge's Death, refers to the peaceful passing away of the Shiba Inu known as the meme Doge, whose real name is Kabosu, on May 24th, 2024. In the wake of her passing, many fans of hers, as well as enthusiasts of Dogecoin and other Doge-related memes, began to post memorials, fan art, tributes and their favorite memes from Dogelore as their way of paying respects. The dog's death also garnered considerable press and media coverage around the globe.
Donald Trump's Indictment, formerly known as Donald Trump's Rumored Arrest, refers to the 2023 indictment of Former U.S. President Donald Trump by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office (DA) in New York City based on him allegedly paying $130,000 in hush money to pornstar Stormy Daniels in 2016, along with 30 or more counts. On March 30th, 2023, the grand jury then voted for his indictment, leading to speculation and memes about his eventual arrest. On May 30th, 2024, he was found guilty on all 34 counts against him. He faces up to four years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for July 11th, 2024.
