The Grimace Shake Trend, also known as the Grimace Shake Incident and Grimace Shake Death, refers to a series of parody horror videos that depict people dying or going insane after drinking the McDonald's Grimace Milkshake. The meme trend was started by TikToker @thefrazmaz in mid-June 2023 and went viral later that month, most notably on TikTok and Twitter where it inspired other videos of people dying after drinking the shake, as well as a fan art trend in which artists draw characters drinking the shake then dying.

Twitter's View Rate Limit is a temporary limit for the number of posts users can view daily imposed by Twitter in July 2023. The limit restricted unverified users to view a maximum of 600 posts and verified users to 6,000 posts daily. The introduction of the limit sparked controversy as users accused Twitter owner Elon Musk of using the tactic to increase sales of Twitter Blue, while the phrase "Rate limit exceeded" (the error message shown to users who exceed their limit) went viral. The move was widely mocked, with many arguing (as they had with previous, contentious Musk policies) it would lead to the death of the social platform. The move came soon after Twitter announced that it was temporarily disabling public profiles and requiring users to log in in order to view tweets.

Adam22's Wife Cucks Him Backlash or Lena the Plug's Video With Jason Luv Backlash refers to reactions and memes calling No Jumper founder Adam22 a cuck after his wife (OnlyFans model Lena the Plug) took part in her first sex tape with another man. The video was first advertised on Twitter in June 2023 and gained viral spread over the following days as people began calling Adam22 a "cuck," with Adam responding shortly after in early July. Notably, Adam22 has appeared in numerous OnlyFans videos with Lena prior to this, including multiple threesome videos in which Adam22 has sex with other women along with Lena.

Skullgirls Update Controversy, also known as Skullgirls Censorship Changes Controversy, refers to the discussion surrounding a June 2023 update to the indie fighting game Skullgirls that altered or removed some suggestive imagery and themes. The changes were met with vocal protest and review bombing on Steam, though some longtime fans of the game argued the changes were minor and that those upset were protesting perceived political correctness rather than how the changes affected the game.
